Cathedral of St Peter's is a considered the most significant Gothic work in southern Germany. The infamous Judensau (Jews' sow) sits outside the church. This statue features three Jews suckling at a large female pig. It faces the former Jewish quarter. Some of the vibrant, stained-glass windows inside the church date to the 13th and 14th centuries. The Mary with Angels statue from 1280 features a colorfully painted Virgin Mary greeting the angel Gabriel. Note that photography is not allowed inside the church. • After you cross the Old Bridge head straight up the hill to the Cathedral of Saint Peters. Right now the exterior is under construction but if know the Germans it will fantastic when it's finished...  more »
  • One of many Dom's in Germany. It is nice but not very spectacular. At noon there is a "meditation quarter hour" which includes organ playing; very beautiful.  more »

  • Beautiful church. We visited during the organ concert at noon. It was beautiful! The stained glass is incredible.
  • Wonderful, solid, strong building with amazing windows, especially at the east end and the world's biggest and heaviest hanging organ .. it's an astonishing instrument. Absolutely beautiful. Come into building, sit a while and let you eyes adjust to the light before seeing what splendid details this place reveals.
