Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady Regensburg, Regensburg

Relatively plain and unassuming from the outside, Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady Regensburg is world-famous for its highly decorated Rococo interior. One of the city's major attractions, the core of the church is believed to be well over a thousand years old. The building's Gothic vaulted ceilings, along with several other main features, were added to the structure during the Middle Ages. Most of the rich interior decorations date to the 18th century, when Rococo was much in fashion all over Europe. Walk inside to see the site's famous image of the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus. Remember: You can take photos only if no church service is in progress while you're there. • There is a fence in this church, so you can't go on a free tour. Still, you can look up at the gorgeous decoration scans from there. The pipe organ is also marble in shape, and it is wonderful that a lot of angels are playing there.

  • It stands facing the Alter Kornmarkt Square, which is on Maximilian Street from the hauptbahnhof. Kihara is the oldest and most historic church in Regensburg dating back to the 9th century. Enter from Iriro in the southwest corner of the square. However, a fence is set up around the seat of the believer, and unfortunately it is not possible to enter to the back. I was allowed to take only a photograph over the fence, but because it was renovated in the 18th century by the Azam brothers who often appeared on this trip, the magnificent decoration of the golden rococo style is very beautiful, gorgeous, and the appearance is simple, so It is a surprise. It is a pity that I couldn't see the ceiling of the domed part of the center up close.

  • The church is not very big and for me was kind of hard to find but it’s absolutely amazing inside. The whole place is covered with a interior fence but it’s absolutely a must see when it comes to this area.
  • The beautiful ancient church, worth to visit
