This Roman commercial warehouse is one of the few that exists worldwide. During the war, in 1947 the ancient docks were accidently discovered. It was at this site, the Musee des Docks Romains was built in 1963. You can marvel at the ancient Roman agricultural resourcefulness when you visit the museum and take a closer look at the 30 dolia or large ceramic roman jars, which they used to store wine or oil. You can also view many articles that were discovered during underwater excavation of shipwrecks near the Marseilles’ harbor.   • This is a very small but interesting museum that preserves some of the discoveries that were made after WW II when the area around the port was being rebuilt. Won't take you more than 30 minutes, but....  more »
