Ocean World Adventure Park, Puerto Plata combines close encounters with marine life by day with thrilling song-and-dance shows by costumed performers at night. The main attraction here remains swimming with dolphins, but you can also feed and pet sea lions and wade with docile sharks. Sign up for a behind-the-scenes tour to learn how the adventure park cares for its residents. At night, fill up at the onsite bistro before taking in a whirlwind show featuring 30 dancers alternating between 120 elaborate costumes. If you come for both the animal encounters and evening show, head to the terrace for a colorful sunset in between.     Chose this for a shore excursion. Have taken 25 cruises and this was one of the best excursions. The facility is small but it is clean, layed out well and the staff is super friendly. Great food and drinks. Saw the sea lion show, dolphin show and swam with the dolphins. I wish we would have had more time. If I'm on a cruise that stops at this port again, I will book another excursion. Check them out.
