Massandra Winery, Massandra

4.2
#1 of 8 in Wineries in Crimea
Nestled among hills and exotic greens, Massandra Winery offers some of the most prestigious wines in the country. Take a guided tour of the medieval castle-like building and view its underground tunnels with extravagant wine niches. Dating back to the 19th century, this winery has used the highest quality grape sorts from Europe--selected and cared for by French wine experts. The winery's Sherry de la Frontera, bottled in 1775, is said to be the oldest wine in the world. Check out this vintage collection, numbering one million bottles, and learn the company's history. • A must see place in Yalta. Excellent guide and great wines to purchase. Interesting piece of Russian/Ukrainian history.  more »
  • There are tickets for a combination of tour ing and tasting only. I don't drink alcohol, so I only visited the tour, but I think it's good to taste the atmosphere. I don't know where crimea is number one because we make wine in each area, but it's very similar everywhere. It might be good to feel the history smoothly.
