Mount Cameroon, Buea

#1 of 8 in Things to do in Southwest Region
Take a trail through lush greenery at Mount Cameroon, one of Africa's largest volcanoes. Standing at 4,095 m (13,425 ft), the mountain offers excellent hiking opportunities in pristine nature with spectacular scenery and views. Walk through a wide variety of landscapes, including abandoned farms at the foot of the mountain, tropical rainforests, savannah, and volcanic black and white craters towards the top. Home to many endangered species, such as francolins and Cameroon speirops, the biodiverse area also includes forest elephants, antelopes, and monkeys, plus a number of medicinal plants like African plum. Take one of the canopy walks through the forest across dense vegetation and enjoy the view. Mount Cameroon is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Buea Edition.
