Silver Pagoda, Phnom Penh

Architectural Building · Religious Site
Located on the south side of the city's royal palace complex, Silver Pagoda houses a collection of national relics, including Buddha statues made of gold, jade, and other valuable materials. Founded in the 19th century, the silver-floored pagoda houses no monks, but serves as a depository of 1,650 artifacts mostly given to the royal family as presents. As you approach the front of the throne, notice the large golden Buddha statue adorned with a staggering 2,086 diamonds and weighing 90 kg (200 lb). Please note that the Silver Pagoda is included in admission to the Royal Palace.
